Individual instruction allows us to focus our undivided attention on the specific needs of one person instead of being divided equally amongst a group. One on one sessions can be geared for the beginner with no experience, the intermediate looking for ways to improve or even the accomplished marksman looking to further their education.

At Project Red Beard we aim to serve as many people as possible while maintaining safety as our number 1 priority. Group based instruction and training, like our Maryland CCW course allows us to connect with several individuals at the same time. Groups are helpful when it comes to topics that are best discussed from multiple points of view so questions can be asked and answered.

Encouraging Safe Firearm Practices

At Project Red Beard, LLC, we place a special emphasis on firearm safety. Firearm safety is the foundation for any individual that is going to take firearm ownership seriously. Just remember, firearms are only tool's and its up to you to handle it responsibly.

Universal Safety Rules

  1. Treat all firearms as though they are loaded. At all times, all firearm safety rules should be in play. Far to often firearm accidents occur with firearms the owner or user swore were unloaded which brings us to....

  2. Never point a firearm at anything you aren't willing to destroy. Firearms are powerful tools and can take life in the blink of an eye. Always be aware of where your muzzle is pointing. It is good practice to pretend there is a laser coming from your muzzle and anything the laser touches is something or someone you've flagged with a firearm.

  3. Keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until you have made the decision to shoot. This means that you have identified your target and whats beyond, you have a solid grip and proper sight alignment. Only after you have checked those items off, should place your finger on the trigger and begin you sequence of fire.

  4. Know your target and what is beyond it. On a range you should have an effective backstop. a backstop is anything that will effectively stop a projectile. In a self defense situation you may not have the luxury of having a suitable backstop, but you should have good situational awareness to know your surroundings. At the end of the day you are responsible for every round fired, good or bad.
